Heat Exchangers for aquaculture, fish farming or fish processing
SYNOTHERM® heat exchangers are universally applicable in:
- Smoking chambers
- Refrigerated counters
- Tanks in recirculating aquaculture systems
Heating when the ambient temperature and the temperature of the supplied fresh water are below the tank temperature.
Cooling when the heat input from ambient temperature (> tank temperature) and living organisms is too high.
Customer-specific project with many advantages
All components of the heat exchangers are fully customized in design and production. Each heat exchanger is unique! The heat exchangers can be installed in the technical area or directly in the tanks. For freshwater applications, stainless steel AISI 316Ti is available. Titanium grade 2 is ideally suited for saltwater and seawater tanks.
Advantages of our Heat Exchangers
Smooth, low-deposit and gap-free surface
- Low tendency to fouling, no possibility for germs or bacteria to form -> High hygiene standard
- Easy cleaning with steam jet or high-pressure cleaner
Only heating or cooling medium inside the Heat Exchanger
- No clogging or blockage inside
- Easier cleaning than external Heat Exchangers
10 mm thick Heat Exchanger body
- Feed residues or sediments cannot deposit or accumulate
Characteristic pillow structure creates strong turbulence
- Turbulent flow and high heat transfer rates
What our customers say
At HanseGarnelen we use the heating elements to heat up and maintain the temperature of our tanks for the sustainable rearing of shrimp. The heat exchangers are positioned in each tank within the integrated biological water treatment system. Thanks to the large surface area, a small temperature difference is sufficient, which is harmless to the shrimp. The polished surface, together with the bio-granulate, effectively prevents biological deposits, ensuring continuous heat transfer.

We, the company heidefisch GmbH, produce 900 tonnes of trout and nearly 100 tonnes of trout caviar every year at our aquaculture facility in Wietzendorf. The six SYNOTHERM® five-pass heat exchangers made of stainless steel 1.4571 by Mazurczak transfer a total output of 384 kW. With a supply temperature of 5 °C, the water in the rearing tanks is maintained at 10 °C. The custom-made units were precisely integrated into our facility and deliver the required cooling performance. The flat and smooth heat exchanger surface can easily be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner.

We are pleased to confirm that we are extremely satisfied with the plate heat exchangers from Mazurczak. The use of these systems in our indoor fish farms is extremely simple, straightforward and quick to implement. The plate heat exchangers allow very precise and highly efficient heating of the process water. By heating the water directly, we were able to significantly reduce the hall air temperature while optimally heating the water (considerably easier than before).

For 25 years, Lachs & Lotte Marburger Frischfisch has been importing a wide variety of sea fish directly from the coasts into the Marburg region. Following traditional craftsmanship, smoking is carried out without artificial smoke flavors or chemical additives in a reconstructed historic natural oven made of clay bricks. For temperature control and humidity regulation, we use a plate heat exchanger located in the chamber, which is operated with an external cooling unit. This ensures a slowly smoked and highly aromatic final product. After the failure of the old aluminum cooling plate, a replacement could no longer be obtained through the usual channels. We contacted Mazurczak GmbH, were able to communicate our requirements directly, and received competent and comprehensive advice. As a result, we had a stainless steel plate configured to fit our facility. We are very satisfied with the entire order process, including on-time delivery. The quality of the delivered product has fully convinced us, and our facility has been working better than ever since. The heat exchanger is passed through by a refrigerant at -10 °C and conditions the chamber to 2 °C – 15 °C.
